Evin Prison: Continuation of Nazanin Mohammadnejad’s Detention in IRGC Intelligence Detention Center

Nazanin Mohammadnejad, an undergraduate student of Russian language at Allameh Tabatabai University and former student activist at Tehran University, remains in indefinite detention at the IRGC Intelligence detention center, known as Ward 2A of Evin Prison, seven days after her arrest. Ms. Mohammadnejad was arrested on Tuesday evening, December 9, by security forces at her residence in Tehran and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to Hrana news agency, the news organ of the Iran Human Rights Activists collective, as of Monday, December 15, 1399 [solar calendar], Nazanin Mohammadnejad, an undergraduate student of Russian language at Allameh Tabatabai University, remains in indefinite detention at the IRGC Intelligence detention center known as Ward 2A of Evin Prison, seven days after her arrest.
Since her arrest, Ms. Mohammadnejad has been denied the right to telephone contact and visits with her family. Her family has met with the prosecutor handling her case at Evin Court in recent days and has been informed that a one-month detention order has been issued for their daughter.
Ms. Mohammadnejad was arrested on Tuesday evening, December 9, by security forces at her residence in Tehran and transferred to Evin Prison. During the arrest, a number of her personal belongings, including her mobile phone, laptop, and books, were confiscated by security forces.
As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for her arrest and the charges against her.
