Human Rights Sources: 10 Inmates Executed at Rajai Shahr Prison; Shaker Behroozi ‘Obtained Consent’

Some human rights websites report that death sentences for 10 inmates at Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj have been carried out.
Hrana, the news agency of the Iranian Human Rights Activists Movement, reported on Wednesday, Tir 8, that the executions of eight of these inmates on charges of “murder,” one on charges of “rape by force,” and another inmate on charges of “assault by force” have been implemented.
Meanwhile, the Iran Human Rights Organization announced on Thursday, Tir 9, that five of these inmates who had been sentenced to execution for “premeditated murder” based on qisas (retaliatory justice) have been returned to prison cells after receiving a reprieve or obtaining consent from the complainants in their cases.
This human rights organization identified four of these inmates as “Hamed Alai, Iman Safavi, Ali Khan Badal, and Ali Khan Goldi” and noted that these inmates had previously been sentenced to execution on charges of “assault by force” or “rape by force.”
However, Hrana states that the death sentence of Iman Safavi for charges of “rape by force” and Mahdi Khalgoldi for charges of “assault by force” were issued and carried out.
Shaker Behroozi ‘Obtained Consent’
The human rights organization “Hengaw,” which had reported the sudden transfer of Shaker Behroozi (Behruz), a Kurdish political prisoner sentenced to death, to an undisclosed location, reported on Thursday that the inmate was transferred back to the political ward of Urmia Central Prison and wrote that the complainants in his case signed an official consent form in court in Urmia.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network, confirming this report, cited an informed source stating that the complainants in the case appeared at the official document registration office 84 Silavane in Urmia and, while withdrawing their complaint against him, expressed their complete and unconditional consent regarding Mr. Behroozi’s (Behruz) case.
This source added that this political prisoner sentenced to death was able to have a brief conversation with his family after being transferred to the ward for political and ideological prisoners.
News of the transfer of this Kurdish political prisoner sentenced to death generated considerable reactions. Amnesty International, expressing concern about the possibility of executing this political prisoner, called on Twitter to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, demanding a halt to any plan for carrying out this prisoner’s sentence.
According to some human rights organizations, the death sentence of this Kurdish political prisoner, on charges of murdering a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps named Mamel Mohammadi, was notified to him in early Mehr of last year at Urmia Central Prison after being confirmed by Branch 31 of the Supreme Court.
Previously, Hengaw had announced that the heirs were forced to file a complaint under pressure from the Intelligence Service of the Guards. However, according to this human rights organization, twelve people testified that Shaker Behroozi was in his hometown village at the time the murder occurred.
