Iran Volleyball Team Moves Closer to Rio Olympics with Victory over China

Iran’s national volleyball team defeated China 3-2 in a thrilling match during the fifth game of the Rio Olympics qualifying competition.

The first set of the match ended 26-24 in favor of Iran. The Chinese won the second set with a better performance, winning 25-22.
Iranian players, seeking to qualify for the Rio Olympics, performed better in the third set and defeated China 25-19.
However, in the fourth set, consecutive mistakes by Iranian players caused them to lose 25-17.
In the decisive fifth set, Iran managed to win 18-16.
In their first match of the 2016 Olympic qualifying competition, Iran had successfully defeated Australia in three consecutive sets.
The team finished their second match against Canada 3-2 and lost to France in their third match 3-0.
Yesterday, Iran successfully defeated Japan 3-1.
Iran will play Poland in their sixth match on Saturday.
