Israel’s Missile Attack on Iran-Backed Forces’ Positions in Syria

The Israeli Air Force launched a missile attack on an area in the south from the Golan Heights. The Quds Force and Hezbollah forces are present in this region. No reports have been released regarding potential casualties.
Following the U.S. air strike on positions of Iran-backed forces on Syrian soil near the border with Iraq, there are now reports of a missile attack by the Israeli Air Force on an area near Syria’s capital.
The French News Agency reported on Monday, March 1st (11th of Esfand) from Damascus about Israel’s missile attack on the “Sayyida Zainab” area located south of Syria’s capital.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights in London, in a report it released on this matter, claimed that the target of these attacks was the positions of forces affiliated with the Quds Force and Lebanese Hezbollah.
The Syrian Army, while confirming the news of Israel’s missile attack on Damascus, announced that the country’s air defense succeeded in intercepting and neutralizing a large portion of the missiles.
This comes as no reports regarding potential casualties and damages resulting from this missile attack have been provided to media outlets. It is said that the attack was carried out from the Golan Heights region.
Furthermore, the French News Agency reported the formation of a security meeting in Israel. Israel’s state broadcaster “Kan” announced that on the evening of Sunday, February 28th (12th of Esfand), a meeting was held with the attendance of senior Israeli security officials.
It is said that the purpose of holding this meeting was to review Israel’s response to the attack on the Israeli cargo vessel “MV Helios Ray.”
Benny Gantz, Israel’s Defense Minister, held the Islamic Republic responsible on Saturday, February 27th for the attack on this cargo ship. This vessel was targeted in the Gulf of Oman.
The recent missile attack by the Israeli Army on Syrian territory is one of multiple attacks that the country’s army has carried out since the beginning of the civil war in Syria in 2011.
Israel typically remains silent about its military operations. However, Israeli officials have repeatedly stated that the purpose of these attacks is to prevent the presence and influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Syrian soil.
