Jalali: Natanz Nuclear Facility Explosion Separate from Other Recent Incidents

The head of Iran’s civil defense organization stated that all recent fires and incidents did not have security reasons, but the explosion at the Natanz nuclear facility is separate from other incidents in recent weeks.
Gholamreza Jalali said on Monday, July 30th, in an interview with the House of Representatives News Agency that his organization will present a report on the Natanz explosion, and added that Iran’s Supreme National Security Council is set to make conclusions on this matter.
On July 12th, an explosion occurred at the uranium enrichment facility in Natanz, which according to some analysts would delay Iran’s nuclear program by up to two years.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council had previously announced that the cause of the explosion was identified but is not being disclosed at present due to “security considerations.”
Jalali also emphasized that the cause of recent fires in forests and some power plants was not “cyber” or “security-related,” and some media outlets “mistakenly engaged the public’s attention.”
In the past two months, fires have occurred in various areas of Iran, including in lands, pastures, forests, some urban areas, and industrial centers in Iran.
