Khamenei: Formation of Palestinian Government in Tel Aviv Will Be Realized

The leader of the Islamic Republic claimed the realization of “forming a Palestinian government in Tel Aviv.” Khamenei said that “pressures” will not stop support for “resistance groups.” Israel has said that if its existence is threatened, it is prepared to attack Iran.
Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, said on Monday, December 10 (December 31) during a meeting with Ziad al-Nakhalah, Secretary-General of “Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement” and his accompanying delegation: “The victory of the Palestinian people in recent years has not meant the ability to form a government in Tel Aviv, though this matter will certainly be realized by God’s grace.”
The leader of the Islamic Republic said that Israel “in two previous wars with resistance groups, in one period after 22 days and in another period after 8 days requested a ceasefire; in the latest clash, after 48 hours it requested a ceasefire, and this means the collapse of the usurping Zionist regime.”
The leader of the Islamic Republic, “predicting” that according to him “resistance groups” will also achieve “greater victories” in the future, added that “as long as resistance exists, the process of decline and destruction of the Zionist regime will continue.”
In the terminology of the Islamic Republic, the country of Israel is referred to with titles such as “Zionist regime” or “occupying regime.” Resistance groups is also a general term for organizations and armed movements supported by the Islamic Republic, such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad, or Hezbollah of Lebanon, which have hostile relations with Israel.
Ali Khamenei emphasized in his meeting today with representatives of “Islamic Jihad” that “severe pressures from the arrogance front” will not cause the Islamic Republic to “refrain from supporting Palestine.”
According to a report from the information center of the office of the leader of the Islamic Republic, Ziad al-Nakhalah, Secretary-General of Islamic Jihad, “while presenting a report on the latest developments in occupied Palestine and the high capabilities and readiness of resistance groups” claimed: “Today the capabilities and power of Palestinian Islamic resistance is greater than ever before, to such an extent that if a war occurs, Tel Aviv and all the cities and towns of the Zionist regime will be within the range of thousands of resistance missiles.”
Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, had said on June 15 of the previous year in justifying the attack by military forces of this country on positions of Iran-backed quasi-military forces in Syria that the Islamic Republic, by mobilizing 80,000 Shiite fighters in this region, is prepared to attack Israel.
The issue of Israel and hostile relations with this country is one of the greatest regional and international challenges of the Islamic Republic. Top political and military officials of Iran have repeatedly used threatening language against Israel and spoken of the “erasure” of this country. Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, said on December 16, 2016: “First I tell you Israel will not see the next 25 years; second, during this period Iran will preserve the spirit of struggle, seriousness, and jihad. You will be worried every moment.”
Ahmad Khatibi, however, interim Friday leader of Tehran, on August 22 of the previous year, referring to the unlikelihood of American war against Iran, said: “The cost of this war for America is monstrous, because if we suffer even the slightest harm, not only will America be targeted, but its ally, the Zionist regime, will also be targeted.”
Hossein Salami, Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, also in April of the previous year, while alluding to the fact that the Islamic Republic has endangered the “existence and survival” of Israel, said that “children of the Islamic nation” are seeking to erase this country.
Recent statements by Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Foreign Minister, that the Islamic Republic has never sought the destruction of Israel, but rather this country “will destroy itself through the policies it pursues,” faced severe reaction from forces loyal to Ali Khamenei. The Kayhan newspaper, whose responsible editor is Hossein Shariatmadari, Khamenei’s representative in this institution, on December 3 of the previous month considered Zarif’s remarks about Israel a “distortion” of the Islamic Republic’s positions and wrote: “The destruction of Israel is the official policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” This government newspaper also emphasized: “We have written on our long-range missiles that Israel must be erased from the scene.”
Benjamin Netanyahu on December 12 of the previous month, emphasizing that “our red line is our survival,” said that if the survival of Israel is endangered, this country is prepared for any action, including military attack on Iran.
