Many Iranian Families Have Reduced or Eliminated Consumption of Red Meat, Poultry, Eggs, and Dairy Products

Research findings from the Institute for Nutritional and Food Industry Research indicate that many families in Iran have severely reduced or eliminated red meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products from their tables.

The institute’s research was conducted during the first three months of the current year and includes more than 22,000 urban and rural households.

Previously, on August 3, the Iranian Student Polling Center (ISPA) reported based on survey results that more than eight percent of Iranian households in 1398 (2019-2020) did not consume red meat.

According to this survey, more than 14 percent had only consumed red meat a few times during the previous year.

In recent years, the price of goods and consumer materials in Iran has increased significantly.
