Mike Huckabee Condemns Attack on Christian Village of Taybeh

Mike Huckabee, U.S. Ambassador to Israel, strongly condemned the recent attack on the Christian village of Taybeh and its church.

According to Times of Israel, Baptist preacher Mike Huckabee visited the Christian village of Taybeh on Saturday, July 19. While condemning the attack on the village and its historic church in Judea and Samaria, he characterized the attack as a crime against humanity and religious sanctities.

Additionally, according to statements from the church leaders, the attacks included severe arson in the vicinity of the ruins of St. George’s Church.

Mike Huckabee said about these attacks: “Desecration of religious sites is a terrorist act that must have severe consequences.” He also wrote on his X social media account: “On Saturday, I visited with residents of Taybeh to listen and learn.”

Mike further stated regarding attacks on places of worship: “Any attack on places of worship, whether churches, synagogues, or mosques, is not only a crime against people but an offense to God.” In an official statement released by the U.S. Embassy, he said: “Desecration of sacred sites and the desecration of places dedicated to worship is a terrorist and criminal act and must face decisive consequences. These places are sanctuaries of worship among the last bastions of our civilization.”

While characterizing violence against sacred sites as contrary to God’s teachings, he called for the identification and prosecution of those responsible for the attacks. Huckabee assured Taybeh’s Christians that they deserve respect and have the right to live in peace and tranquility.

Mike also emphasized, as a representative of American citizens living in Israel, including Christians, Muslims, and Jews, that those responsible for this incident would be held accountable should any murder or casualties occur in the crime.
