Mike Huckabee: Previous Visa Restrictions for Members of Christian Organizations Resolved

Mike Huckabee, U.S. Ambassador to Israel, after weeks of diplomatic tensions over issuing visas to members of evangelical Christian organizations, wrote a sharp letter that escalated tensions to the point where Israel and the United States announced on Monday, July 21, that they had reached an agreement on the issue of issuing visas to evangelical Christian organizations.
The agreement on the visa issuance issue for members of evangelical Christian organizations ended concerns about restricting the activities of these organizations. Mike Huckabee wrote on his account on the X network about resolving this problem: “The visa issue for American evangelical organizations has been completely resolved, and with the cooperation of Israel’s Ministry of Interior and the Prime Minister’s office, the visa issuance process has returned to its efficient previous procedure.”
In an unusually harsh letter, Huckabee had warned that if administrative problems and delays in issuing visas for Christian volunteers and staff were not resolved, he would designate Israel as an unacceptable country for Christians and would consider retaliatory measures.
Calo Myers, lawyer for Christian organizations, in response to the agreement, said: “We have reached a solution that is satisfactory to all parties, and Christian organizations will receive all necessary visas through a simple and efficient process.”
Regarding this agreement and Huckabee’s warning, a source in the Israeli Prime Minister’s office, while noting that Israel has never been interested in undermining the freedom of Christian volunteers, emphasized: “We value evangelicals. It is deeply unfortunate that there is a problem, and obviously it must be resolved.”
Mike Huckabee, U.S. Ambassador to Israel, also added: “The aforementioned Christian organizations have never requested special treatment and only sought a return to a procedure that has worked well for decades.”
Sources close to Huckabee also stated that resolving this dispute was not intended to be public, but is considered an important step in maintaining strong relations between Israel and the powerful community of evangelical Christians in America.
