Mohseni Ejehi Appointed as Head of Judiciary

The Leader of the Islamic Republic appointed Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejehi as the new Head of the Judiciary on Thursday.
The promotion of this institution’s deputy to the position of head comes just one day after Ibrahim Raisi, who was introduced as the winner of the 2021 presidential election, requested the Leader of the Islamic Republic on Wednesday, July 1st, to make a decision regarding the appointment of a new head of the judiciary.
Iran’s president-elect, who participated in the elections while retaining his position as head of the judiciary, stated in his letter to Ayatollah Khamenei that he intends to focus on forming the thirteenth government during the remaining time before the new administration takes office.
News agencies inside Iran have now reported the official decree from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appointing Mr. Mohseni Ejehi as head of the judiciary.
