Number of Protesters Sentenced to Death Continues to Rise

The number of protesters who have been sentenced to death following the nationwide protests is increasing.
According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Association, a number of protesting citizens including “Maroof Moula, 22 years old,” “Caravan Shahi Parvana, 23 years old,” “Reza Islamdoost, 24 years old” from Asnouiyeh city, as well as “Farzad and Farhad Tahzadeh” and “Hezhar Hamidi” in Urmia have been sentenced to death by the Islamic Republic government.
Mohammad Mahdi Karami, who was arrested during the fortieth gathering mourning Hadith Najafi in Karaj and had been sentenced to “corruption on earth,” has been sentenced to death by the Islamic Republic’s judiciary. Mohammad Mahdi’s father told the Etemad newspaper: “Mohammad Mahdi contacted us himself and said, ‘Father, they have given us the verdicts, my sentence is death. My son was crying and saying, don’t tell mom anything.'”

What is the reason that the Islamic Republic government wants to radicalize the atmosphere and each time with different methods tries to suppress the protests and popular revolution?
