Over 20 Ahvaz Steel Workers Remain in Detention

A member of the workers’ faction in the Islamic Consultative Assembly announced on Thursday that “more than” 20 workers from the protesting Ahvaz Steel workers remain in detention.
Earlier, the ILNA news agency had reported that the number of detainees in recent days is 28 people.
This news was released after the Free Union of Iranian Workers announced the release of 11 workers from the detained workers of Iran National Steel Industrial Group on Wednesday on bail.
In recent days, 41 workers from this large industrial complex were detained by security forces. Most of these detentions occurred at night.
Now Soheila Jaloudarzadeh, a member of the workers’ faction in parliament, told the ISNA news agency that more than 20 workers remain in detention.
Ms. Jaloudarzadeh, referring to the entry of this faction to secure the release of detained workers from the National Steel Group, said that “securitizing professional issues is an illegal action”.
