Permanent Defrocking and Seven-Year Prison Sentence for ‘Javad Yazdi’ for Supporting Israel

“Mohammad Javad Mohaqqeq Yazdi,” a clergyman from the city of Qom, has been sentenced to permanent defrocking and seven years in prison for supporting Israel.
Mohammad Javad Yazdi, a clergyman residing in Qom, as a result of criticizing the policies of the Islamic Republic system and opposing the Islamic Republic regime’s war against Israel and considering attacks on this country forbidden, has been permanently defrocked and sentenced to seven years in prison. He was summoned to prison on Thursday, the 21st of Farvardin to serve his sentence.
Mohammad Javad Yazdi also, in criticizing the encouragement of youth to join proxy groups to fight against Israel, warned authorities about sending young people to war fronts and said: “If martyrdom is an honor, first send your own children.” His warning to authorities led to these sentences being issued against him.
He is one of the critical figures within the Qom seminary who has always boldly criticized the policies of the Islamic Republic and repeatedly called for an end to deceiving public opinion with very harsh slogans against Israel.
According to the final verdict issued against him, this critical clergyman has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for supporting Israel, 1 year for propaganda against the system, and 2 years in prison for insulting Khomeini and Khamenei.
