Son of Ayatollah Khazali: Killing of Three Iranian Church Priests Was Carried Out by Ministry of Intelligence!

In this crime, the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic killed three priests from the Iranian Protestant community named Haik Hovsepian Mehr, Mehdi Dibaj, and Tatavous Michaelian in 1994 (1372-1373 Hijri) in a horrific manner.

Mehdi Khazali, son of Ayatollah Khazali, in an interview on September 27 about the mass killing of 1988, posted on the internet, stated that the horrific killing of three priests from the Iranian Protestant church was planned and executed by the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence.

Mehdi Khazali says:
“Look, one of these terrible gangs that exists, there are three girls who are baited by security officials, to see if two Christian priests are preaching, if they are promoting Christianity or not. They thought it would just be to the extent that they would go and say we want to convert to Christianity and you preach to us. Well, they go inside the house of these two priests, and then with the rest of the matter, they are confronted with the fact that before the eyes of these three girls, those priests are killed, dismembered and put in the refrigerator. After that, they ask these girls to be interviewed saying we were assigned by the People’s Mujahedin Organization to kill these priests. Well, they are forced to do this interview for their freedom, and they are promised (if) you do this interview you will be released. After that, they saw that if we release them they will go out and say sir, this was all a scenario, they baited us, they dragged us into the house and killed them. They issue a death sentence for these three baited people who they themselves had provided security for, and they are sentenced to be executed.”

In this crime, the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic killed three priests from the Iranian Protestant community named Haik Hovsepian Mehr, Mehdi Dibaj, and Tatavous Michaelian in 1994 (1372-1373 Hijri) in a horrific manner. Initially, the government, by staging a televised confession, attributed this crime to the People’s Mujahedin Organization. However, after years and the mysterious killing of Saeid Emami and the exposure of documents of these crimes, it was revealed that the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic was responsible.
