Teenager Commits Suicide in Sanandaj

On Wednesday, December 15th, a teenager in Sanandaj took his own life by ingesting pills. According to the Legal Medicine Organization, teenagers account for over 7 percent of annual suicides in Iran.

According to Hrana news agency, the news organ of the Iranian human rights activists network, on Wednesday, December 15th, 1400, a teenage boy in Sanandaj committed suicide.

Hrana has identified the teenager as Burhan (Sepehr) Ahani, son of Abed, approximately 17 years old and a resident of Sanandaj.

There is no precise information available regarding the reasons and motives of this teenager who took his own life by ingesting pills.

Hrana had previously reported in its coverage the suicides of 4 other teenagers named Diman Bayzidi, Mardin Allah Moradi, Nima Khosravi, and Arnika Jahanbein over the past month in Kurdish-populated regions of the country.

According to the Legal Medicine Organization, teenagers account for over 7 percent of annual suicides in Iran.
