Prince Reza Pahlavi, in a post on his Telegram page, addressed the people as follows:
“My fellow countrymen in Iran and around the world
These days I read and see your messages in the #I_Grant_Proxy campaign. I am grateful for your affection and honored that I enjoy your trust to such an extent.
More than four decades ago, I began my political life in exile with the mission to be your ally and supporter in the struggle for Iran’s freedom. In carrying out this mission, your ever-growing trust has been my most valuable asset. Know that I am aware of the responsibility that comes with this trust, and just as in the past four decades, without any personal expectations or motives, I will stand with you in this struggle with all my strength.
The public expression of this trust gives me and other trusted individuals the opportunity to speak and negotiate on your behalf on the international stage with greater power and clarity. As I emphasized in the “New Covenant” in September 2020, Iran’s salvation is impossible without national solidarity. Today again, I extend my hand of cooperation toward all democracy-seeking forces, including individuals, parties, and groups, so that based on three minimal shared principles—Iran’s territorial integrity, secular democracy based on human rights, and the people’s right to determine the political system through free elections—we can be supporters of Iran’s national revolution.
The path to victory is clear and the nation’s freedom from evil’s grip is near. No system, however brutal and bloodthirsty, will be able to withstand the steel will of a united people. I am with you, and with you I will stand until a national, democratic government chosen by the people takes the helm in Iran.
