The repression of religious minorities in Iran continues unabated, and we witness the arrest of many Christian citizens by Islamic Republic military forces daily, who are held in security prisons while their families receive no information about their fate.

According to Voice of America news agency, three Christian citizens were arrested on April 8, 2023 by security forces. After 40 days of no news, it has now been revealed that all three are held in a security ward in Evin Prison.

Hamid Hatemi, director of the Persian section of the Christian organization “Mehr,” describes the details of the arrest and the latest news regarding the condition of the three citizens as follows: “On Tuesday, April 9th, we learned that simultaneously between 7 and 8 in the morning, intelligence organization agents went to the homes of Zahra Heidari (Yalda), Razieh Kehzadi (Maral), and Shilan Uraminizhad and arrested all three of them, also confiscating all their personal belongings including books, laptops and computers.”

After weeks of no news, it has now become clear that all three have been in Evin Prison and are awaiting the completion of interrogation and referral to court. Their families, after weeks of no information, learned of their presence in Evin Prison last week and had very brief visits with them, during which they noticed their poor physical condition.
