Trump Reports Progress in Negotiations with Islamic Republic; Emphasizes “Iran’s Nuclear Disarmament” and De-escalation

Donald Trump, President of the United States, expressed satisfaction with the negotiation process between Washington and the Islamic Republic while making his first official trip aboard the new “Air Force One,” stating that talks conducted in Doha have been “very good.” He also stressed that the process of what he described as “Iran’s nuclear disarmament” is progressing well—remarks that, amid the sensitive circumstances following recent military clashes, have drawn the attention of international observers to the future of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The U.S. President spoke on Wednesday, July 1st, corresponding to Tir 10th, before departing for North Dakota to attend the opening ceremony of the “Theodore Roosevelt” Presidential Library, addressing journalists about the latest developments regarding talks between Washington and the Islamic Republic. Referring to negotiations mediated by Qatar in Doha, he expressed satisfaction with the negotiation process, stating that the meetings held have been very good.
Trump stressed in his remarks that the process of “Iran’s nuclear disarmament” is progressing well and added that following recent U.S. military strikes, the atmosphere of relations between the two sides has now shifted toward de-escalation. According to him, technical negotiations continue with the goal of implementing preliminary agreements and preventing the escalation of the crisis. International sources have also reported that American and Iranian officials have conducted indirect talks in Doha with Qatar’s mediation.
The U.S. President also linked these developments to the state of the United States’ economy. He stated that the American stock market continues to show an upward trend and oil prices have declined compared to the days before the U.S. military operations against the Islamic Republic. According to Trump, the reduction in oil prices has caused gasoline prices to fall in the American market, and he characterized this trend as a positive sign for his country’s economy.
These remarks were made coinciding with Trump’s first official flight aboard the new U.S. Presidential aircraft—a renovated Boeing 747 donated by the government of Qatar. This aircraft will be used temporarily until the new presidential fleet is ready and its first mission was the trip to North Dakota to attend the opening ceremony of Theodore Roosevelt’s Presidential Library.
Before boarding the plane, Trump referred to it as one of the best aircraft ever built, stating that after undergoing security and technical modifications, the aircraft has been prepared for presidential use. Meanwhile, the acceptance of this aircraft from the government of Qatar continues to be accompanied by discussions and criticisms in America regarding the legal and political dimensions of this gift.
The U.S. President’s recent remarks are being released as indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington have entered a new phase, with both parties seeking to reduce military tensions while reaching a sustainable solution regarding the framework for implementing preliminary agreements and the future of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program—a process that, according to analysts, could influence the security equations of the Middle East as well as global energy markets.
