Trump to Rouhani: Never, Ever Threaten America Again

Shortly after Rouhani’s threatening remarks directed at America, Trump addressed him and wrote that he should never threaten America, otherwise he would face severe consequences. Rouhani had said: “War with Iran is the mother of all wars.”
Less than 24 hours after Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s threatening remarks directed at America, stating that “war with Iran is the mother of all wars and peace with Iran is the mother of all peace,” US President Donald Trump responded sharply to his comments and warned the Islamic Republic about the consequences of such statements.
Trump wrote on Twitter on Monday morning (July 23 / Mordad 1) in Iran time: “To the President of Iran: Never, ever threaten the United States again, or you will face consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before. We are no longer a country that will stand for your demented words of violence & death. Be careful!”
During a meeting with heads of Iranian diplomatic missions abroad the previous day, Rouhani described “American actions” as “a conspiracy against Iran and the great nation of Iran” and said, among other things: “America’s latest conspiracy is an attempt to exhaust the Iranian nation. Know this; the Iranian nation is master and will never be anyone’s servant. Americans must understand well that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace and war with Iran is the mother of all wars.”
Iran’s president also reiterated his threat to “close the Strait of Hormuz” while alluding to America’s intention to reduce Iranian oil exports “to zero,” saying: “Someone who understands politics even a little wouldn’t say we will prevent Iran’s oil exports. We have many straits; the Strait of Hormuz is just one of them.”
Hassan Rouhani continued: “Mr. Trump! We are men of honor and have guaranteed the security of the region’s waterway throughout history; don’t play with a lion’s tail, it’s regrettable.”
Beyond announcing the beginning of its unilateral sanctions against Iran in the automotive industry and precious metals trade starting on Mordad 13, the United States has threatened that global buyers of Iranian oil must reduce their imports from this country to zero by Aban 13 of the current year (2018), or they will face Washington’s sanctions.
On Tir 11, Rouhani threatened the United States in Switzerland in response to this American intent, saying: “They don’t understand what this means, because it doesn’t make sense that Iranian oil is not exported and then regional oil is exported. If you were able to, do this and see the result.”
Rouhani’s remarks were welcomed by Iran’s hardline forces. Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, immediately thanked Rouhani for his threat to close the Strait of Hormuz and said: “This is the Dr. Rouhani we knew, know, and should have.”
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, also praised Rouhani’s remarks about closing the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, one day before America’s renewed threat by Rouhani, and said: “The president’s remarks during his recent trip to Europe stating that ‘if Iranian oil is not exported, no country’s oil in the region will be exported’ are important remarks that reflect the system’s policy and approach.” He added: “The Foreign Ministry has the duty to seriously follow up on such positions of the president.”
