Vasily Nebenzia: Israel is an occupier and has no right to defend itself

Vasily Nebenzia, Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, announced that Israel is an occupier and has no right to defend itself.
According to Al Arabiya, Vasily Nebenzia, during a speech at an emergency session of the UN General Assembly, while expressing support for Palestine, stated: “First, it is necessary to stop the bloodshed and prevent the scope of the crisis from expanding to the entire region, otherwise this war will never end.
We want to allow mediators to find a diplomatic solution including the swift release of captives. Sooner or later, this path must be taken. But the question is: how many innocent people will lose their lives in the meantime?”
Nebenzia’s remarks came as Russia bombarded 118 small towns and villages in Ukraine in a 24-hour period the previous day. Ihor Klymenko, Ukraine’s Interior Minister, stated that Russia’s bombardment of Ukraine represents the most intense daily bombing of the current year. He announced that 10 out of 27 regions of Ukraine came under fire, and these attacks caused numerous deaths and injuries.
Now Vasily, this Russian official, regarding Hamas’s surprise attack on Israel that initiated the war, stated: “Israel has no right to self-defense in the current conflict because it is an occupier.”
Vasily Nebenzia, while accusing the United Nations of having no right to grant Israel full authority for ground operations in Gaza, added: “The goal of our American counterparts is not only to divert attention from their own political failures and to blame Iran and Hezbollah for all problems, but their mission is to push the Security Council toward legitimizing Israel’s ground operations in Gaza, like what we witnessed in the invasion of Libya in 2011. The Security Council has no right to grant such authority to Israel.”
