WikiLeaks Publishes One of the Classified Files of the 1979 Revolution
WikiLeaks has declassified and published another highly confidential file from the 1979 revolution.
WikiLeaks is a non-profit international organization engaged in receiving and disclosing documents from anonymous sources. The website was launched in 2006 and is managed by Sunshine Press publications.
“Richard Heston” compiled this document and writes its summary as follows:
“The Shah of Iran was the most industrious and ambitious ruler in human history who wanted everything for the Iranian people. He possessed high literacy and insight, and such a person was considered a threat to our and Europe’s interests. One must read his books titled “Mission for My Country” and “Answer to History” to understand even one percent of his great thoughts, personality, and character.
America’s, Britain’s, and France’s fear of his growing power and his capability and readiness to expand the Iranian empire across the entire globe united them against him and they overthrew him. The establishment of OPEC, and his vision for Iran to be a bridge for America, Europe, and the Soviet Union. The union of Indian Ocean region countries, which was his proposal, would have cut off the hands of America, the Soviet Union, Britain, and France from Iran’s and Saudi Arabia’s oil, as well as their dominance over the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean, and would have caused the rapid advancement of the Middle East—something that would have destroyed prosperity in Europe and America.
Within a decade, Iran had become a formidable rival to Britain, America, the Soviet Union, and France. No one could believe what brilliant mind was behind all this. So the best instrument for his overthrow was the people who, in January 1979, through our policy-making, brought about his downfall. What more foolish enemy could there be than religious and ignorant people? So the best option was to exploit the influence of “Ayatollah Khomeini,” whom we had foreseen for such a day beforehand, to ride the people on a wave of religion and create a destructive flood to destroy the Shah’s rule.
Because militarily, there was no pretext to attack Iran, and in terms of military, political, and economic power, there was a strong hand, and most importantly, “OPEC” was at his command. So there was no better option than that of ignorant and superstitious people and religion. Because if Iran had reached its previous militarism and Achaemenid glory, it would have forced the entire world to obey it. The Shah of Iran was a charismatic, wise, self-sacrificing, people-loving, and patriotic personality, and we had to prevent Iran from becoming powerful so as not to witness ancient Achaemenid Iran again.
Powerful Iran with a culture and civilization thousands of years old is now in the hands of mercenaries who sell parts of it every day to foreign countries for their own interests, to prevent a nation with such immense wealth and power from being revived and rising to conquer the world. But its zealous people will take the land of Iran out of the hands of this system and its agents, and will restore this country to its past civilization, culture, and power.
