Woman Commits Self-Immolation in Front of Courthouse in Tehran

The Judiciary of the Islamic Republic confirmed an act of self-immolation by a woman in front of one of the judicial units in Tehran on Monday.
According to Tasnim, “an informed official at the Tehran Judiciary” stated that this woman was accused in March 2019 of “inappropriate dress,” “damaging public morality,” and “insulting officials.”
This Tehran Judiciary official said that after the woman attended court on Monday and the court chief was “away on leave due to the death of one of her relatives,” she committed self-immolation with gasoline outside the judicial unit building.
According to the same report, the woman was transferred to a hospital.
