Workers in Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, and Steel Industries Join Strikes

According to Iran International news agency, workers in the oil, gas, petrochemical, and steel industries have joined the strikes.

In the past, permanent employees as well as contract workers in companies affiliated with oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors in various cities, in addition to standing in solidarity with the protesters in the revolutionary uprising, joined nationwide protests and strikes due to non-fulfillment of their demands. Today, Monday, corresponding to 4 Ordibehesht 1402, workers in the oil, gas, petrochemical, and steel industries continued their strike with a demand for a 79 percent salary increase.

In addition to them, workers employed in the Shadegan Steel project, contract workers of Daralou Copper Company in Kerman, workers of Madkosh Steel Company in Bandar Abbas, electrical and precision instrument workers in the Gachsaran Petrochemical project, workers of Ramco and Jahan Pars companies in Sarcheshmeh Copper, workers of Amensazan Company in Kongan, workers of Petrofrasaz Company in Kohmobarek Petrochemical located in Jask also joined these strikes today.

With the joining of a vast number of employees from the country’s most important industries to the strikes and shutdown of factories and companies, the economic backbone of the regime will be broken. People who have been subjected to injustice by the system in pursuit of their overdue rights have announced through joining the strikes that they demand the fall of this regime. A regime that, despite Iran’s enormous wealth, is unable to provide for the rights and benefits of employees in Iran’s most important industries.
