Kurdistan Human Rights Network: Three detained male students were sexually harassed during the protests

In a report on the protests in the last week of November this year, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported on the sexual harassment of teenagers arrested in Marivan and announced that so far, "sexual harassment and threats of rape have been proven against three male students."
On Sunday, January 26, the network reported that "a large number of children under the age of 18 who were arrested during the protests on November 15 and 16 in the city of Marivan" had been subjected to "severe mental and physical torture" in the Revolutionary Guards' detention center for several days.
According to the report, "At least three male students were threatened with rape with tools such as batons and were sexually harassed at the same time. These three students were released on bail after a few days and were threatened by security interrogators not to raise the issue of physical torture and sexual harassment with anyone under any circumstances."
Reports from human rights organizations and news sources indicate that the repression of protesters in the provinces of Kurdistan and Khuzestan has been more severe than in other places, and the city of Marivan has had one of the highest numbers of deaths and arrests.
The arrest of protesters in various provinces of Iran continues, and despite the fact that more than forty days have passed since the protests began, the authorities of the Islamic Republic are still unwilling to announce the number of people killed and arrested.
