16-year-old girl killed by her father in Kermanshah

On Sunday, the 13th of Tir, a 16-year-old girl in Kermanshah was killed by her father with multiple knife wounds because she came home late. Iranian law contains provisions that exempt those who commit “honor killings” from severe punishments.
According to Hrana news agency, citing the Iran Human Rights Organization, on Sunday, the 13th of Tir 1400, a girl in Kermanshah was killed by her father.
Based on this report, the girl has been identified as Shekiba Bakhtiar, 16 years old.
According to an informed source quoted in this report: “Shekiba was killed by her father with multiple knife wounds because she had gone to the market and returned a little late.”
It should be noted that according to Islamic Penal Law, if a father kills his child and is convicted in court, he will be sentenced to pay blood money (diyah) and imprisonment. In some cases, fathers have committed murder after verifying that a father is not executed for killing his child.
On the other hand, Iranian law contains provisions to exempt those who commit “honor killings” from severe punishments.
