434 New COVID-19 Deaths and Movement Restrictions Imposed in 25 Provincial Centers

The number of new COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours reached 434 cases. The Security, Social and Administrative Committee of the National Coronavirus Disease Management Headquarters decided to impose movement restrictions in 25 provincial centers across the country from noon on Monday during the upcoming holidays.
The spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of Health announced an increase in new cases of COVID-19 and the number of deaths from coronavirus infection in the country over the past 24 hours.
According to ISNA, Sima Sadat Lari said: “From yesterday until today, November 1, 2020, and based on definitive diagnostic criteria, 7,719 new COVID-19 patients were identified in the country, of which 2,389 have been hospitalized.”
On this basis, the total number of COVID-19 patients in the country has reached 620,491.
Lari added: “Unfortunately, over the past 24 hours, 434 COVID-19 patients lost their lives and the total death toll from this disease has reached 35,298.”
He announced the provinces in critical condition as follows: “Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, East Azerbaijan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Qazvin, Lorestan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Gilan, Bushehr, Zanjan, Ilam, Razavi Khorasan, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Alborz, West Azerbaijan, Central, Kerman, North Khorasan, Hamadan, Yazd and Kurdistan are in critical condition.”
Other provinces are in alert status.
Movement Restrictions Announced in 25 Provincial Centers from Monday Noon
Hossein Zolfaghari, Deputy Security and Administrative Official and Head of the Security, Social and Administrative Committee of the National Coronavirus Disease Management Headquarters, announced through a circular regarding the review and implementation of restrictions during the upcoming holidays that decisions have been made in this regard. This circular contains 9 items as follows:
1- From 12:00 noon on Monday, August 12, 1399 (November 2, 2020), the exit of private vehicles with local license plates and entry of private vehicles with non-local license plates from/to 25 provincial centers as detailed in item 2 is prohibited.
2- The provincial centers subject to the ban are: Tehran, Alborz, Razavi Khorasan, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Fars, Khuzestan, Kurdistan, Isfahan, Qom, Central, South Khorasan, Ardabil, Kermanshah, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Yazd, Lorestan, North Khorasan, Ilam, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Hamadan, Zanjan, Semnan and Kerman.
3- The implementation of restrictions in Tehran and Alborz provinces begins from the end of their security zones and, in a unified manner, entry of non-local plates and exit of local plates is prohibited.
4- The start time of the plan is 12:00 noon on Monday, August 12, 1399 (November 2, 2020).
5- The end time of the plan is 24:00 on Friday, August 16, 1399 (November 6, 2020).
6- Traffic police will impose a fine of 500,000 tomans on violators based on previously defined codes.
7- The provincial coronavirus management headquarters, while holding a meeting with responsible agencies, will coordinate and provide support for the implementation of the announced restrictions. In this regard, the provincial road and highway transport administrations must take action to close non-main roads in coordination with the provincial traffic police.
8- The information committee will continuously and effectively conduct explanatory measures and reflect the decisions in national media including state radio and television and newspapers. In this regard, preparing necessary announcements and conducting specialized interviews shall be considered and implemented.
9- Public vehicles, security, emergency, medical, service vehicles, and those transporting goods and essential materials are not subject to the imposed restrictions.
