48-Hour Closure Order Issued to Commercial Establishments in Northern Tehran

Tehran Police say that due to weather conditions, an order has been issued for commercial establishments in northern Tehran to suspend their operations for 48 hours.

Colonel Taghi Afarand, Deputy Director of Supervision of Places under Tehran Police, stated that this order has been issued to “commercial establishments located in Darband, Darake, Fasham, Lavassan, Farahzad, Ken, and Sulqan.”

Mr. Afarand further added that “operators of commercial establishments in these areas have been instructed to refrain from providing any services to customers.”

Tehran Police have asked capital residents to avoid visiting these areas.

Earlier, the Director General of Crisis Management of Tehran Province, referring to the announcement by the country’s meteorological organization regarding heavy precipitation and the flooding of rivers in Tehran Province, stated: “The possibility of flooding in rivers and waterways across Tehran Province cannot be ruled out.”

Floods and crises resulting from heavy rainfall, river overflow, and their destructive consequences have so far led to the deaths and injuries of dozens of citizens. In Shiraz alone, at least 19 people have lost their lives and over 100 have been injured in the past hours.
