Arrest of ‘At Least 26 Kurdish Students and Civil Activists’ in Six Iranian Cities

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network announced on Wednesday that in recent days, at least 26 Kurdish students and civil activists have been arrested by Iranian Islamic Republic security forces in the cities of Karaj, Mahabad, Rapt, Marivan, Boukan, and Sardasht.

The latest arrests took place on the morning of Wednesday, December 15, in the village of Selin in Oramanat, during which Akram and Siamak Edvayee were arrested by the Sepah Pasdaran intelligence forces.

Relatives of these two Kurdish citizens told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network that arrest warrants were not presented and security forces used violence during the arrest of these two civil activists.

According to the report, 12 of the 26 people were arrested by Sepah Pasdaran intelligence, but the name of the organization or organizations responsible for arresting the others has not been disclosed.

No information is available regarding the status and reason for the arrests of those detained.
