Assassination Attempt Against Ahmad Oobali, Founder of ‘Gonaz TV’ Network, and His Son
Ahmad Oobali, founder of the ‘Gonaz TV’ network, and his son were the targets of an assassination attempt by agents of the Islamic Republic in the United States.
Ahmad Oobali is a political activist from Ardabil and founder of the television network ‘Gonaz TV’. Ahmad Oobali returned from Azerbaijan to California to attend his son Deniz’s graduation ceremony, when he and his son were severely beaten by six individuals.
According to ‘Gonaz TV’, this terrorist attack was carried out with the intention of assassinating the founder of this television network and occurred one day after Ahmad Oobali’s return from Azerbaijan to the United States. The health conditions of both Ahmad Oobali and Deniz have been reported as very critical, and both are under special medical care.
In this terrorist attack, the assailants broke Ahmad Oobali’s neck bone and several fingers on his hand. It is worth noting that Deniz is also hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
Ahmad Oobali, despite his very critical condition, conveyed the following message during a brief conversation with his relatives at the hospital: “I have lived with dignity until today, and I have fought for my homeland and expressed my thoughts clearly.”
In this terrorist attack, six individuals involved in the assault on Ahmad Oobali and his son were arrested by American police, and investigations by American security and judicial authorities regarding this incident have begun.
