Beating of Disabled Teenager at Gachsaran Disability Care Center

A disabled teenager at the care center for people with disabilities over 14 years of age in Gachsaran has been subjected to torture and beating. The head of the Welfare Organization of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad confirmed the news, stating that two deputies and the head of security of the provincial welfare organization have traveled to Gachsaran for further investigation of the matter.

According to Hrana news agency, citing Tasnim, a disabled teenager at the care center for people with disabilities over 14 years of age in Gachsaran has been subjected to torture and beating.

Based on this report, Navid, a disabled teenager from the city of Suq, a subdivision of Kohgiluyeh County, was recently placed in the mental disability care center in Gachsaran by his parents for care. After some time, when Navid’s parents visit him at the center, they observe multiple signs of torture and beating on his body and after protesting these conditions, they have him discharged from the center.

The head of the Welfare Organization of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad said in this regard: When this disabled teenager is discharged from the center, his parents notice signs of beating on his body and report the matter to the officials of the welfare organization. Upon learning of this matter, the surveillance cameras at the Gachsaran care center were immediately reviewed by colleagues and they discovered that Navid had quarreled with another person with a disability and was hit by him.

Mohammad Karim Aria, stating that part of this beating occurred due to a quarrel and altercation with another person with a disability, stated: This matter has caused concern among officials of the provincial welfare organization and yesterday we sent two deputies and the head of security of the provincial welfare organization to Gachsaran for further investigation of the matter.
