Ben-Giv: I will present a plan to Biden during our meeting to curb Iran

Israel’s Prime Minister will travel to the United States in the coming days. He wants to present a plan to Joe Biden to counter Iran’s “regional aggression” and its nuclear activities. Ben-Giv said the time to “stop Iran has come.”

Naftali Ben-Giv, Prime Minister of Israel, is traveling to the United States this week to meet with Joe Biden, the President of the United States, and other officials of the country, including discussions about Iran.

On Sunday, August 22, he announced that he would present a plan to Joe Biden, President of the United States, aimed at “limiting nuclear activities and regional aggression” of the Islamic Republic.

According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, he intends to tell the U.S. President that “the time to stop Iran has come.” In his view, one should not “create a highway in the form of a nuclear agreement whose expiration date has already passed” for Iran.

Ben-Giv had previously also said, referring to his trip to the United States and meeting with Biden, that there are many topics to discuss, but “the first and most important issue is Iran’s regional activities and how to counter them.”

This is Ben-Giv’s first trip to the United States as Prime Minister of Israel. He had previously mentioned in a press conference about the objectives of this trip: “We want to focus on a shared policy; a policy aimed at Iran’s destructive and destabilizing actions in the region, human rights violations, support for terrorism, and the Islamic Republic’s approach to the point of nuclear breakout.”

According to the White House, this meeting will also be an opportunity to negotiate regarding Middle East peace and Palestinian issues. Other topics of these discussions include issues of Syria, Lebanon, and strengthening bilateral relations between the United States and Israel.
