Mohammad Khoshbayan, Former Hawza Seminary Instructor, Removes His Turban

Mohammad Khoshbayan, one of the prominent instructors of the Hawza seminary, paid his respects to the people of Iran and the casualties, and declared his disassociation and denouncement of Syed Ali Khamenei, and with criticism of other sources of emulation, removed his turban from his head.
Mohammad Khoshbayan, by publishing a video on social media pages, announced his opposition to the performance of the Islamic Republic government regarding the suppression and massacre of the Iranian people.
He announced in this video: “At the beginning of my statement, I bow my head in respect before the blood unjustly shed in the path of freedom. Before the blood of martyr Sattar Beheshti, martyr Rouhollah Zam, martyr Kian Pirfalak and…. which was shed by the cursed, bloodthirsty and murderous regime of the Islamic Republic. My dear ones, I declare my disassociation and denouncement of Syed al-Qatelin Ali Khamenei, and my words are directed toward the clergy, especially those clergy who support the government. If you are followers of Syed Ali Khamenei, according to Quranic verses, you are also apostates. O sources of emulation! Shiite blood is being shed, where are you going? Is it a joke to hang a young man in his twenties within 23 days on the charge of waging war? I have walked for 18 years in the path of propagation and wore the garment of the clergy. Today, with certainty and clarity, I say: the religion that Rouhollah Khomeini created in the name of the absolute governance of the jurist—which considers anyone who does not accept absolute governance of the jurist an apostate—I am a disbeliever in this religion, and know that I consider this religion lower than every satanic path. Today I remove the garment of the clergy from my body, a garment that for some has become a symbol of lies, embezzlement, murder and the like, and I offer my chest as a shield for my people, because my blood is not more colorful than the blood of the martyrs that is being shed now. Certainly this will have consequences for me, but I have offered my chest as a shield and present my turban to my people.” Mohammad Khoshbayan removed his turban at the end of his statement.

In the hope of a day when all clergy, like Mohammad Khoshbayan, recognize the lies and crimes of the Islamic Republic and, like him, remove their turbans and stand with the people.
