According to Israeli radio, in recognition of Cyrus the Great’s services to the ancient Jewish people, the State of Israel issued a stamp of Cyrus the Great and created a rare gold medal thereof.
In a ceremony attended by hundreds of guests and cultural enthusiasts in Israel, the major Israel Museum in the city of Jerusalem received the rare gold medal of Cyrus the Great.
The medal was presented to the director of the Israel Museum by the Federation of Iranian Jews in New York, with Parvane Sarraf representing the federation at the ceremony. James Schneider, Director of the Israel Museum, and Yaron Ratzon, Director of the Israel Stamp and Medal Authority, were present at the ceremony.
