Citizens Arrested on First Anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s Death and Security Situation Intensifies

On the first anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death and the beginning of the popular uprising, a number of citizens have been arrested by regime forces, and a security situation has been imposed in many cities.

From Saturday, the 25th of Shahrivar, corresponding to the first anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death, which sparked a popular uprising, until today, hundreds of citizens in various cities have been arrested by regime forces. Officials have so far refrained from commenting on the matter and prevented media coverage of these arrests.

Many family members of the detained in Tehran are waiting outside the headquarters of the Tehran Emergency Police Command to follow up on the status of their arrested loved ones. According to some waiting families, following family protests against the arrests and the unclear status of those detained, police forces present at the scene attacked them with batons and subjected them to insults, violence, and beatings.

Approximately 15 citizens from various cities in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province have also been arrested by regime forces.

It should be noted that the security situation continues in Kurdish cities, with helicopter flights ongoing in these cities. According to reports from the people of Saghez, in all squares and streets of the city, as well as on Mamosta Hezar Street near Amjad Amini’s house, every fifty meters a group of suppression forces are stationed and on standby. Special forces have also taken positions on the hills overlooking the city, placing it under siege.

Additionally, in the cities of Mahabad, Marivan, Sanandaj, Kermanshah, Divandareh, Ilam, and Abadan, a severe security situation continues to prevail. However, the people of Iran across the country continue their protests and fearlessly confront regime forces for the overthrow of the system.
