COVID-19 Situation in Tehran and Karaj Turns Red

The COVID-19 situation in Tehran and Karaj has been declared red. Seven provincial centers in Iran are also in red status. There is talk of the spread of the fourth wave of coronavirus to eastern regions of Iran. Currently, 88 cities in Iran are in red status.
The fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic in Iran continues to progress. This comes as the number of people who have received the coronavirus vaccine in Iran has been reported to be less than one percent.
“Khabr Online” reported on Monday, April 16 (Farvardin 16) about the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in Iran. According to a report published by this news source, the situation in several provincial centers in Iran has been declared red.
It is said that the situation in Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan, Shiraz, Ilam, Shahrekord, and Zanjan is in red status. Moreover, it has been reported that 88 cities in Iran are in red status in terms of coronavirus pandemic.
54 other cities and including six provincial centers (Ardabil, Bojnurd, Kerman, Rasht, Hamadan, and Yazd) are also in orange status as of Monday, April 16.
Islamic Republic officials have reported the spread of coronavirus in the fourth wave from the western half of Iran toward the eastern half of the country. Officials have urged people to refrain from attending private gatherings, wedding ceremonies, and mourning rituals.
The “Asr Iran” website has also published a report identifying the use of crowded public transportation, eating in restaurants, and presence in crowded places, especially enclosed spaces, as among the main factors in the spread of the coronavirus.
