“Elaha Tookilian”: I Am Alive to Depict These Events, Silence is Betrayal

“Elaha Tookilian” announced on her Instagram page that she is alive to depict these events. Those who remain silent are traitors.

Elaha Tookilian, a 34-year-old protester who lost vision in one eye after being shot by security forces, continues to smile even after three surgical operations. She traveled to Milan, Italy for her next surgery to remove the bullet from her head, as the bullet that entered her eye had moved toward her head and caused infection.

Before her surgery, Elaha posted a video on her Instagram page and said: “They are going to remove this unwelcome guest from my eyes. This bullet has moved and gone toward my head and became infected. This unwelcome guest will be removed. A guest that was very brutal and tyrannical and brought oppression with it. I am alive to depict these events and expose this betrayal. But those who remain silent are very much traitors. They see what suffering their children endure and how many children have lost their lives, but they remained silent.”

Young people like Elaha still have the courage to expose the crimes of the Islamic Republic regime against the people. According to Elaha, many people, despite losing or having their children injured, have remained silent against the regime. A silence that is an even greater crime against themselves and the Iranian people.

Elaha’s condition is just a small glimpse of the crimes of the Islamic Republic regime. Many families have experienced similar incidents to Elaha’s or have even lost their loved ones, yet they remain silent out of fear of the regime and its threats.

Iran needs brave individuals like Elaha and others like her to achieve victory. According to Elaha’s statements and those like her, as long as there is silence, nothing will happen. Rather, they must stand together and unite to achieve victory.
