Empress Farah Pahlavi: I am confident that Iranians’ sacrifice for freedom will bear fruit

Empress Farah Pahlavi, in a message in response to recent protests in Iran, says she is confident that Iranians’ sacrifice in pursuit of freedom and democracy will bear fruit.

Empress Farah Pahlavi, in this message, a copy of which was obtained by Voice of America, states: In recent days, the cry for justice from you women, men, youth, workers and students of Iran protesting against inflation, unemployment, discrimination, corruption, and injustice echoed from all streets of Iran and resonated around the world.

She added: Your call for justice has brought together the people of the world and especially Iranians living in different countries of the world remembering Iran and far from their homeland, in solidarity with you, and has inspired the world to provide greater support for you and your struggle to achieve freedom and justice.

Empress Farah Pahlavi concluded by writing: I am spending these days, like all days, alongside you. I share in the mourning with you for those dear ones who have lost their lives in these protests, I am a participant in the grief of families who have been deprived even of bidding farewell to their children’s lifeless bodies, and like all of you, I wish recovery for the wounded and injured, and freedom for all the innocent who have fallen victim to imprisonment and torture.
