Enforcement of Islamic Conduct in Dezful Leads to Altercation and Violence

A person’s intervention regarding the enforcement of Islamic conduct toward several citizens in Dezful resulted in an altercation and violence.
An individual in one of Dezful’s waterfront parks reacted to the dress code of some citizens, which led to violence and a clash between them.
According to the statement of Rohollah Garavandi, the police commander of Dezful, two citizens were detained in relation to this altercation. He further stated that the person who had enforced the conduct was injured in this clash and was discharged from the hospital after outpatient treatment. A legal case was filed against the two detained citizens as well.
Moreover, according to Hrana, many experts have considered the issue of enforcement of Islamic conduct as interference in the personal domain of individuals’ lives and indicative of unlawful conduct and violence, and have warned against it.
The aforementioned altercation occurred due to non-compliance with mandatory hijab regulations, while Armita Garavand, who was beaten for not complying with the hijab requirement, continues to be in a concerning condition with her health deteriorating. However, despite such incidents where Armita, like Mahsa Amini, is in a coma due to the hijab issue, the system’s authorities continue to pursue the enforcement of Islamic conduct and interfere in the way Iranian women dress.
