Excerpts from Statements by Representatives at the European Parliament Session in Strasbourg, France

The statements of representatives at the European Parliament session regarding the condemnation of the Islamic Republic reflected unanimous consensus among all parties in support of the Iranian people.

Most speakers at this session began their remarks with the slogan “Woman, Life, Freedom.” Below is an excerpt from the statements of representatives at this session:

Didy Renders: A regime that even kills children should not exist. The European Union sanctioned sixty individuals and entities in the past three months. We demand the abolition of the death penalty worldwide and hold Iran accountable.

Federico Ries: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps should be placed on the terrorist list and subjected to the highest level of sanctions.

Representative of the European People’s Party: The Islamic Republic is merciless and murderous.

Avin Engel: The slogan “Woman, Life, Freedom” is an embodiment of freedom.

Representative of the Green Party Parliamentary Group: International investigations must be conducted regarding the suppression of protests in Iran, and we must sanction the Revolutionary Guard and all its members.

Dietmar Köster: Iran’s anti-Semitic regime must go. It is our duty to encourage this revolution.

Hanna Neumann: The time for appeasement with the Islamic Republic has ended.

Havi Loper: Let us stand alongside the Iranian protesters.

Hermann Tertsch: The Islamic Republic has taken the entire region hostage through proxy wars.

Cornelia Ernst: We must stop executions in Iran. The Islamic Republic is a child-killer and must go.

Melin Björk: We must stop these executions.

Lucas Mandel: The Islamic Republic is a threat to the free world. This regime is morally rotten from within.

Representative of the Identity and Democracy Faction: We must support hope for democracy in Iran.

Ernest Urtasun: Repression in Iran has reached an unprecedented level of ruthlessness.

Representative of the ECR Parliamentary Group: The Iranian people are facing one of the greatest enemies of freedom.

All representatives stated that we must support this freedom movement in Iran and properly implement the sanctions that are currently in place.

These representatives also emphasized the need for the Revolutionary Guard to be designated as a terrorist organization and for the Islamic Republic to be held accountable.

The outcome of this session, which is an anti-Islamic Republic resolution, will be put to a vote tomorrow, Thursday, January 18, 2023, corresponding to the 29th of Dey.
