Families of Two Teacher Activists Unaware of Their Conditions in Prison

The Coordination Council of Iran’s Teachers’ Professional Organizations announced that the families of Rasoul Badaghi and Jafar Ebrahimi, two imprisoned teacher activists, have been without news of their condition for approximately two weeks.

The council, referring to the transfer of Rasoul Badaghi and Jafar Ebrahimi to solitary cells in ward 240 of Evin Prison and their deprivation of contact with their families, stated that this situation has caused their families concern.

These two labor activists were arrested on the 10th of Ordibehesht by officers of the Ministry of Intelligence, along with Mohammad Habibi, spokesperson of the Teachers’ Professional Association.

The arrest of these activists and other activists in recent days has been followed by widespread criticism from human rights organizations and trade unions around the world.
