Farhad Fakhrbakhsh, Host of ‘You and Sima’ Program, Resigns from IRIB
Farhad Fakhrbakhsh, one of the presenters on Channel One of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, announced his resignation from IRIB through a video message.
Mr. Fakhrbakhsh was the host of the program “You and Sima” on Channel One of IRIB for the past four years. In a video he released, he stated: “After 20 years of cooperation with IRIB in various positions, due to the difficult circumstances the Iranian people are facing these days, I announce my resignation from continuing my work with the broadcasting organization.”
In the past two days, this is the third television presenter who has announced his resignation from IRIB in support of protesters against the deadly crackdown on “Woman, Life, Freedom” demonstrations. Davoud Abedi, sports presenter at the news network, and Kimia Gilani, presenter at Channel Five of IRIB, announced their resignations before Farhad Fakhrbakhsh, stepping down from their positions in solidarity with the protesting people.
