Final Round of Confrontation Between Two U.S. Presidential Election Candidates

Trump and Biden expressed their views in the final round of the U.S. presidential election debate on issues such as combating coronavirus, Russian interference, economic conditions, the environment, and racism. The second confrontation between the two took place in a calmer atmosphere.

Donald Trump and Joe Biden, the Republican and Democratic party candidates in the U.S. presidential election, expressed their views in the final round of electoral confrontation on specific issues such as combating coronavirus, possible Russian interference in the elections, economic conditions, the environment, migration, and racism. This two-person debate, which took place Thursday evening, November 1st (October 22nd) in Nashville, Tennessee, proceeded in a calmer atmosphere thanks to the mute button on the microphone.

Joe Biden once again criticized Trump for his negligent approach to the coronavirus pandemic: “Someone who bears responsibility for so many lives should not remain President of the United States.” He said that with the approach of a “dark and bleak winter,” the president has no plan to combat coronavirus.

Trump, in turn, praised his administration’s performance and expressed optimism that America will soon emerge from this crisis. According to him, the coronavirus will soon disappear and the pandemic will end. He again blamed China for spreading the pandemic and said: “It is not my fault that [the virus] came here, it is China’s fault.”

He accused Biden of wanting to shut down the entire country, which would have “terrible consequences.” He said that shutting down the country will cause job losses and more suicides.

Biden responded that he does not intend to shut down the country, but will try to fight the coronavirus more effectively. He said that many victims of the pandemic lost their lives due to the president’s negligence.

Health and Treatment Policy

Biden attacked Trump’s administration policy in the field of public health. Trump accused Democrats of wanting “socialist medicine.” He made clear that he intends to dismantle the entire health insurance and medical system that the Obama administration had implemented and replace it with a “nice and new health care system.”

Biden responded that every citizen should have the right to access medical facilities, and this demand has nothing to do with socialism.

Relations with North Korea

Trump claimed that his foreign policy regarding North Korea has been very successful. He said that through successful initiatives, he prevented war with North Korea, which could have resulted in the death of “millions of people.”

He said that regarding North Korea, former President Barack Obama and his deputy Joe Biden left him a “dirty legacy,” which he put on the right track. Biden accused the president of trying to justify the rule of Kim Jong-un, the “dictator” of North Korea. According to him, under the shadow of Trump’s reconciliation policy, the North Korean “gangster” had enough opportunity to successfully continue his nuclear program.

Biden noted that Trump’s policy in dealing with North Korea could make this country’s leader “like Hitler” a threat to the international community.

Discrimination and Racism

Joe Biden, drawing attention to the continuation of racist structures in the United States, emphasized that there is no equality in this country and Trump’s policy has further intensified this inequality: “He poured oil on every racial conflict.”

In response, Trump boasted that he has served African Americans more than any other president before him, with the exception of Abraham Lincoln, and claimed: “I am less racist than any other person in this room.”

He said that acts of police violence against African Americans have been exceptional cases.

The second electoral confrontation between Trump and Biden took place overall in a calmer atmosphere. Kristen Walker was the program moderator and could mute a speaker at the push of a button whenever they violated the dialogue protocol.
