Five Students Killed Following Metropol Building Collapse

Five students lost their lives in the collapse of the Metropol building in Abadan. So far, the death toll from this incident has been reported as 34 people.
According to Hrana news agency, citing Entekhab, five students from Abadan and Khorramshahr lost their lives.
Masoud Hamidi Nejad, head of the Khuzestan Education Organization, said: Five students lost their lives in the collapse of the Metropol building in Abadan, and their bodies have been recovered from the rubble. He stated: “Malika and Mitra Salehian Pour” and Masih Sadeghi from Khorramshahr, as well as “Arin and Hamid Reza Jalilian” from Abadan lost their lives in the Metropol tower collapse.
The “Metropol,” a 10-story tower in Abadan, collapsed at noon on Monday, June 2, 1401. So far, 34 citizens have been killed, 35 people injured have been discharged, 2 are hospitalized, and some others remain trapped under the rubble. Engineers from the Abadan Engineering Organization had previously warned that the construction of this complex would not be completed due to failure to observe necessary standards; however, the unsuccessful construction of this building continued until its collapse and the deaths and injuries of a number of citizens.
