Four Christians in Dezful Arrested

With the simultaneous arrest of four Christians in the city of Dezful, a new wave of security pressures on religious minorities, particularly Christians in Iran, has begun.
According to a report by a correspondent of the Persian-Speaking Christian News Network, on the morning of Monday, the 30th of Farvardin, following a raid by security forces on the homes of Ali Vark Sha, Hejjat Lotfi Khalaf, Ismail Narimampour, and Mohammad Ali Torabi, they were arrested.
Security forces, after searching the homes, also confiscated mobile phones.
The correspondent of the Persian-Speaking Christian News Network, in a contact with Pastor Nourallah Ghobiti Zadeh, reported that on Monday, the 30th of Farvardin 1400, around 7:30 in the morning, agents of the Ministry of Intelligence raided the homes of four believers in Christ in the city of Dezful named Ali Vark Sha, Hejjat Lotfi Khalaf, Ismail Narimampour, and Mohammad Ali Torabi.
He added that Mohammad Ali Torabi was also arrested three years ago by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and was released on bail. Pastor Nourallah further expressed that Mohammad Ali Torabi’s 2-year-old daughter has contracted coronavirus, and under these difficult circumstances, this arrest has added to the concerns of this family.
The Christian organization “Open Doors” in its annual report on Christians in 50 countries of the world announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the eighth most Christian-persecuting country in the world.
The report further stated that underground churches are frequently attacked, their leaders and members are arrested, and they are sentenced to long-term imprisonment on charges of acting against national security.
