Housing Prices in Farvardin 1400 Increased 92% Compared to Same Month Last Year

Central Bank statistics show that the average housing price in Tehran during Farvardin of the current year experienced a 92% growth compared to the same month last year. In other words, housing prices have nearly doubled.
According to a report published on the Central Bank website on Tuesday, the 7th of Ordibehesht, the average price per square meter of housing in Esfand of last year had reached above 30 million tomans, but in Farvardin of this year it decreased by 3% to 29 million and 322 thousand tomans.
The report states that nonetheless, housing prices in Farvardin 1400 experienced a 91.7% growth compared to the same month last year.
The report did not explain the reason for the decline in housing prices in Farvardin compared to the previous month, but the exchange rate decreased somewhat in Farvardin of this year.
On the other hand, demand for housing in the month of Farvardin decreased 60% compared to Esfand. The decrease in demand could be another reason for the decline in housing prices in this month.
In Farvardin of this year, 1,243 housing units were traded in Tehran, whereas this figure was five thousand and 272 units in Esfand of last year.
