Iran Air Signs Contract to Purchase 20 Aircraft from European Company

A European commercial aircraft manufacturing company announced the signing of a multi-hundred million dollar contract with Iran Air airline.
According to a report by the Kansas.com website, the Italian-French company ATR announced on Thursday, April 13 that it has signed a contract for the sale of at least 20 commercial aircraft to Iran Air airline. The value of this contract has been announced at 536 million dollars.
David Vargas, spokesperson for ATR company, said on Thursday that the contract for the sale of 20 ATR 72-600 commercial aircraft with a capacity of seventy passengers has been finalized. The ATR spokesperson added that according to this contract, Iran Air has the option to purchase an additional 20 aircraft from the company.
Vargas refrained from disclosing the exact value of the contract and said that 536 million dollars refers only to the portion of the contract that is currently confirmed, and the discounts that Iran Air is entitled to have not yet been factored into this price.
Meanwhile, Iran’s radio and television (IRIB) announced the value of this contract at 400 million dollars.
