Iranians Gather in Brussels Calling for IRGC to Be Designated as Terrorist Organization

Iranians residing in Europe gathered in Brussels on February 20th and called on the European Union to place the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the list of terrorist groups.

A large number of Iranians opposed to the Islamic Republic who had traveled to Brussels from many countries held a large rally with their widespread presence, and conveyed the voice of their compatriots in Iran through their slogans regarding the placement of the IRGC on the terrorist list to the ears of policymakers in the European Union.

The foreign ministers of the member states of the European Union at this meeting also formally called for cutting off relations between the Union and Iran.

Masih Alinejad, along with Hamed Esmaeilion, also participated in this protest rally alongside the people. Masih Alinejad also announced that in this meeting, we called for the expulsion of ambassadors and pressure on the Iranian government for the release of political prisoners and the placement of the IRGC on the terrorist list. Alinejad also stated in her speech that the reason for the persistence of the Islamic Republic is sowing discord between men and women, government opponents, and discord between ethnicities in Iran.

Hamed Esmaeilion also thanked all participants in this rally for not leaving the Iranian people alone and for standing in solidarity with them, and announced that we will continue until we achieve victory.

Another call was also prepared for Wednesday, February 22nd in support of Iranians in Italy, and Masih Alinejad and Hamed Esmaeilion will also participate in this call.

The unity and solidarity of people in Iran and outside the country over this 5-month period has been such that it led the European Union to officially recognize the IRGC of the Islamic Republic as a terrorist organization.
