ISIS Calls for Attacks on Iran and Several Other Countries During Ramadan

The terrorist group “Islamic State” released an audio message on its Telegram channel calling for more attacks on Iran, the United States, Russia, Iraq, Syria, and European countries.

On Monday, June 12 (Khordad 22), a message attributed to Abu al-Hasan al-Muhajir, spokesman for the terrorist group “Islamic State,” was published on the group’s Telegram channel.

In this audio message, the ISIS spokesman urges supporters of the group to carry out more attacks during Ramadan in Iran, the United States, Russia, Australia, Iraq, Syria, the Philippines, and European countries.

Reuters, which published the news, emphasized that it cannot independently verify the attribution of the message to ISIS, but noted that the type of audio file released is consistent with previous messages from the Islamic State’s spokesman.

The ISIS spokesman said in the audio message: “The lions of Mosul, Raqqa, and Tal Afar, God bless the pure hands and bright faces that fight against opponents and apostates and battle with the strength of one man.”

Reuters writes that the term “apostate” is generally used by ISIS to refer to Shia Muslims.

Al-Muhajir continued: “To brothers in faith and belief in Europe, America, Russia, Australia, and other countries, your brothers in these countries have acted very well. Make them your example and do the same work as them.”

The terrorist group Islamic State carried out two simultaneous attacks on June 7 (Khordad 17) at the Iranian Parliament in Tehran and the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini, killing 17 people and wounding 50 others.
