Lack of Oversight on Standard Guardrail Implementation; Two Citizens Drown in Water Canal in Isfahan

Hrana News Agency – Due to lack of oversight regarding the presence of standard guardrails, two citizens drowned in one of Isfahan’s water canals and lost their lives. The negligence of city officials in overseeing the implementation of standard guardrails and the installation of warning signs in water canals and agricultural reservoirs has previously caused such incidents to occur repeatedly.

According to Hrana News Agency, citing Tasnim, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, the absence of standard guardrails on a water canal in Isfahan led to the death of two citizens.

The spokesman for the emergency and urgent medical services center of Isfahan Province said: At 3:51 PM yesterday, a drowning case was reported to emergency services, following which two rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.

Abbas Abedi, without mentioning the identity of these individuals, continued: During this incident, which occurred in the Esfahanak water canal, two 50-year-old men died and were transferred to Farabi and Al-Zahra hospitals.

The lack of precise oversight by city officials regarding the implementation of safe and standard guardrails in water canals and agricultural water reservoirs has previously caused such incidents to occur.
