Lack of Workplace Safety; Death and Injury of 4 Workers in Different Cities

Hrana News Agency – In the absence of workplace safety and working conditions, 4 workers in the cities of Yasuj, Shabestar, and Shadegan were involved in accidents while working. In these incidents, 3 workers lost their lives and one other worker was injured. Iran ranks 102nd globally in terms of workplace safety compliance, which is a very low ranking.

According to Hrana News Agency, citing ISNA, on Tuesday, Farvardin 2, 1400, the public relations officer of the 115 Emergency Service of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province announced the death of one of the road maintenance personnel of the Road Maintenance and Transport Organization of Boyer-Ahmad County as a result of an accident during work.

Mohammad Amin Nikaui identified the deceased road maintenance worker as Gharib Khodadadi, 56 years old, a resident of Dareh Chenar village under the jurisdiction of Malayer County in Hamadan Province.

Nikaui stated in this regard: At 11:54 today, about one and a half kilometers after the Shiraz Road Police checkpoint on the Yasuj-Isfahan bypass road, a Samand car collided with a road maintenance officer who was conducting road clearing and safety operations. The incident was immediately reported to Yasuj Medical Emergency Services.

He added: An emergency team was then sent from Sarab Taaveh to the accident site, and when they reached the injured person, they found that due to the high speed of the car and the injuries sustained by this road maintenance officer, he died on the spot.

Death of Two Workers in Shabestar

According to Hamshahri Online, on Sunday, Esfand 29, 1400, two workers in Shabestar were involved in an accident while working and died.

The deputy commander of law enforcement in Shabestar County stated: Following receipt of news from the Police Emergency Center 110 regarding an electrocution incident at one of the factories of Shirin Asal Company, officers from Shabestar Police Station 11 were immediately sent to the accident site.

Naser Derakhshan added: Unfortunately, in this incident, 2 workers aged 32 and 38 who were cleaning and washing the production hall were electrocuted due to a fault in the hall’s electrical system.

This law enforcement official, noting that despite doctors’ efforts, these two workers died in the hospital, stated: Supplementary investigations regarding the cause of the accident are ongoing.

Injury of One Worker in Shadegan

According to IRIB, on the night of Saturday, Esfand 28, 1400, a worker was injured as a result of an explosion at the Shadegan Steel Factory while working.

The head of the Gas Company of Shadegan County stated in this regard: At 23:15 last night, a collision of a nitrogen gas tanker with objects inside the Shadegan Steel Factory caused an explosion in the nitrogen tank of the Shadegan Steel Company.

He added: In this incident, the tanker driver was injured.
